There are many models of finders available which vary from around #10 that is affordable but has it limits to approximately #100 for much more innovative LCD multi sensors with all of the bells and whistles. Having renovated two homes, I have a reasonable bit of practice using stud finders and they have become an essential part of my own DIY kit together with hammers my drills and screwdrivers as well as all of the other tools I have collected over the years. After much debate, we came to the conclusion that the 'Zircon i700 Multi Scanner' is one of the best stud finders for many people. It has all of the features of more expensive models from brands like Bosch but comes in a less expensive cost and more importantly, is just as accurate and detects wood studs, metals studs and electric wiring making it perfect for a range of jobs rather than simply discovering stud walls.

Zircon MultiScanner i700 Electronic Wall Scanner

We liked the LCD display that indicates the pictures of objects as you move over them. In reality, a displayed picture shows the stud from edge to edge and spotlight function points straight to the stud centre, something which cheap stud finders do not do. Other important positive points of this version include an'Auto Correction' attribute for correcting common errors and also an integrated wall marker for indicating targets at the push of a button. Nothing beats the performance and convenience of the device and thus it deserves the number one spot as our best recommended multi scanner. It offers 4 scanning modes including'STUD','DEEP','METAL', and'AC' mode that runs constantly along the other manners. So it won't only find wood studs, metal, and joists but also find live, unshielded electric wires concealed beneath the wall.
